One of the strains of the Beagle virus is quite clever and may mislead you into thinking it came from CDE Software when it hasn't.
The virus may have an email similar to what follows:
"Dear user, the management of Cdesoftware.com mailing system wants to let you know that,
Our main mailing server will be temporary unavaible for next two days,
to continue receiving mail in these days you have to configure our free
auto-forwarding service.
Pay attention on attached file.
For security purposes the attached file is password protected. Password is "76027".
Have a good day,
The Cdesoftware.com team http://www.cdesoftware.com This email will have a ZIP file attached to it. DO NOT ACCESS THIS FILE. It is a virus. Most likely you or an aquaintance received the virus and it scanned email and used addresses to "share" with others.
Please update your virus protection to the latest updates.
